Southern Nevada Health District, through B & P Advertising and Public Relations
Description
Strategic Solutions designed and administered two scientific Clark County community telephone surveys on behalf of the Southern Nevada Health District in support of the federal Cities Readiness Initiative. The survey results, presented at the statewide Public Health Preparedness Summit in 2006, were used to establish a baseline measure of community knowledge with regard to emergency preparedness before and after the "CAN IT" public awareness campaign.
Outcome
The research determined a community-wide level of awareness in terms of disaster preparedness programs and services provided by local and regional agencies. The research also provided SNHD staff with defensible measures of disaster preparedness among Clark County households and receptivity to enhanced emergency preparedness education and outreach.
