Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth
Description
The Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth commissioned Strategic Solutions to conduct the first and only comprehensive study of homelessness among youth in Southern Nevada. We were asked to prepare a multi-phase research program, one which would leave no question unanswered regarding homeless youth and their needs. When the proposal was presented, we were tasked with raising funds to conduct the study. We did so gladly, and private funding and a grant from Clark County provided the resources to put the project into action. A massive call for volunteers was coordinated in order to conduct a point-in-time census count of homeless youth. The volunteers were educated using training programs which Strategic Solutions organized and conducted with the assistance of social service providers. Interviews were conducted with homeless youth throughout the valley and the study was deemed a success.
Outcome
The results of the study have and continue to be utilized to improve services to homeless youth in our community.
